The Barça women’s team wins the Champions League

It had to be them. It had to be Aitana Bonmatí and Alexia Putellas who would overcome FC Barcelona’s ‘black beast’ in the Champions League finals, Olympique Lyonnais, to lead the Blaugrana to win their third title in history and their second consecutive one.

Two goals filled with the anger and memories of Budapest 2019 and Turin 2022 from two players who cried in those finals unleashed delirium in a San Mamés stadium that felt like it was in Barcelona.

‘The cathedral’ was completely Blaugrana. Barça’s colors flooded the stands of a stadium that was anything but impartial, with an evident majority of culé fans. Around 40,000 voices made the Blaugrana feel as if they were playing at home.
